Link to download AutoHotkey

I think that it is useful to have somewhere (here ? announcement ? Scripts and Functions ? Tutorials ?) in the forum a pinned subject (that can be seen at first glance) that give the link to use to down load AutoHotkey installer, instruction to install and maybe the last version number.

But, I admit that its "visibility" could be improved.
I think that the homepage should also indicate the latest available version. I might do a little upgrade to the homepage soon.

Both download button(homepage) and download link(forums) redirect to the ahk-install.exe. There are no available link(s) that redirect to Downloads page. One would have to explicitly type http://ahkscript.org/download in the navigation bar. I think there should be a link/button that would direct users to the downloads page... unless there is already one?

I suppose you are unaware that the download link on the home page actually opens the download page

I'm aware, but it downloads also
How about just "Downloads" with a small text saying "latest version: 1.1.15.0.4" or something... Just a suggestion... What do you think?

The download button is scripted incorrectly. Why is it scripted at all?

Also, the "Previous versions" link at the bottom still points to the old URL, though that redirects.

If you're going to add the version number, you'd better pull it from version.txt, because I'm not going to be updating that page each time I update the program.

Instead of automatically starting the download when we clicked on the Download button on the homepage, why not just show the download page? It is very annoying when I accidentally clicked on the button and it starts downloading the installer.

Thanks to your answers : after increasing my knowledge, I have the following comments :
1) in the topic "AutoHotkey v1.1.15" and its follow-up, please Lexicos replace "download" by "downloads page" or "download executables" : it will be more eye catching.
2) to tank : nearly the bottom of a long page is not an obvious place. Same remark as 1) "download" is short but not clear at least add an "s" or replace it by "programs", executables" or "installer" to match "Tutorial".
3) xZomBie is right : a link to the "downloads page" is needed but the link to the ahk-install.exe may be useful but is not mandatory.

You've misunderstood. Zelio's idea was to have two separate buttons which look like one, not to open both links at once.

i.e. clicking on Download would download the installer, while clicking on the + at the end of the button would take you to "more downloads".

Opening both links simply doesn't make sense: If you just want the installer, you have to close the new tab/page that opened. If you don't want the installer, you have to cancel the download.

Ok, just one awesome button that simply says "Download" (direct download installer) with a small "+" (redirect to DL page) next to it. And, a small grey inscription of the latest version below the button using version.txt
