Update!!!
Another attempt will be made to update the forum tomorrow 10/13/2018 5 PM GMT. I will be taking the forum down 6 hours this time to allow more time for debugging

I will be updating the Forum software the captcha and doing some work on the database. This outage will last no more than 4 hours but you could last much less

I can't get to the Ask For Help forum via the normal link for it:

It comes up with an Error 404 - File not found. Any ideas on how to get there? Thanks, Joe

Turned out to be corrupt tables during the restore . should be all better now

Ugh i had to completely rebuild the ask for help forum old links will not work

the German "Ich brauche Hilfe" (Ask for Help) forum still retrieves Error 404.

Same as:

Both work for me. please clear your browser cache

The AutoHotkey v2 Development forum still has some oddities:
Operators vs Methods (old version with an unviewable post)
Operators vs Methods (duplicate with newer posts)
Will AutoHotkey v2 Syntax Be More Confusing For Newbies? (incorrect post count)

One user told me he'd had problems receiving private messages. Although AFAIK I did not experience this.

Do you have any ideas what could be causing these problems? Has this happened before?

Also, I believe that last time (and this time) when a software update was attempted, that unfortunately it didn't succeed. So when was the last time the website software was updated? Thanks.

I disabled the forum and then took a backup of the forum. Something is corrupt in the latest backup. MySQL check table statement was unable to identify a problem. I was unable to find the corruption with manual inspection either. Fortunately it didn't seem to affect any posts. I recreated Ask for help but its index changed as a result.

Not this specific problem if you are refering to the data corruption. If you mean the failed forum upgrade yes. I allotted 4 hours. and had parts of the forum functional but the themes were all messed up. I ran out of time and restored backups.

over a year ago but we arent that far out of date. This upgrade breaks some compatibility and alters the DB structure. Its an all or nothing move.

Working fine now...thanks very much for your efforts! I don't know if this was intended, but the link to the Ask For Help forum has changed, so anyone who has bookmarked it will get a message that says, "The forum you selected does not exist." The link used to be:

It is now:
https://autohotkey.com/boards/viewforum.php?f=76

Somehow it seems v2.0-a100 was removed and version.txt was reverted to a99. I've fixed it.

Yes, my daily check-for-update script picked that up this morning...thanks for fixing it!

@tank I remember we tried this before, but I don't remember what failed in particular... What if we are to make a clean updated phpbb clone a on seperate host and upload a copy of the DB?

I did do a clean install except for updating the DB for the new version which is necesary
