A Korean Forum?

There is a Korean AutoHotkey website. http://www.autohotkey.co.kr/.

It has existed for quite some time now, possibly since 2008. Looks to have a very large membership. This includes there might possibly be a Korean version of the help documents or someone can translate it into Korean and offer it as one of the downloads, which has Chinese and German versions. Maybe it might be a good idea to reach out and see if Korean AHK users would want a Korean language sub-forum on this website.

The koreans have operated independently of us as long as i can remember. At the very least we should link to it from our forum. Too my knowledge aside from english. Koreans are the largest group of users outside the usa

Interesting: https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?q=autohotkey
USA is rank 26 ^^
South Korea is surprisingly ranked number 1.

The Korean website has existed for many years and they are listed on the Rosetta Code site (https://rosettacode.org/wiki/AutoHotkey_1.1). It's surprising that Korean hasn't been more strongly embraced previously on the main site, to include their knowledge and innovations. They have done great at promoting AutoHotkey.

Playing computer/online games is very popular in South Korea - this might be a reason.

But yeah.. I like the idea for a own korea subforum.
Would be nice if someone (better more) also translate the Tutorial (https://www.autohotkey.com/docs/Tutorial.htm). Atm we got only English / German / Chinese.

Does someone know a few well-known ahk-member from korea?

I'm not suprised South Korea to #1, especially with one of the largest competitive gaming (as gregster mentioned) countries, focusing on things like APM, team strategy, etc.
USA might be larger in terms of norminal values / Sheer amount: say revenue, amount of players. South Korean also has a much higher "online" or "internet population" ratio.

Here's the traffic (top 5) for authotkey.com (for the past month):

Code: Select all

Country / Region	Traffic
United States 12,337,721
France 3,530,840
Germany 3,182,540
Hong Kong 2,958,690
Russian Federation 2,358,683
Anyway, I dunno :P

A subforum would be nice, but we would have to see if they even want it. :?:

@jNizM Don't forget spanish, french, russian and portuguese! :D

I only know tomoe_uehara and Shirubadappuru but I think they were both from Japan. Same about kon, but can't remember it, though.

Yeah, japanese won't really help for korean.

Re french docs:
I mean, I used to study all the french classics when I was younger, but they were a bit weak on the computer lingo... and so am I :D

Okay, I could take on French but would love volunteers ahaha
I'll start a repo, and do this on my free time during the holidays.
Anyway, back on topic! I think the main person is under the name tleap? There's a personal website with some English on it :b
Although, they might prefer what they have since it's worked out for them for so long?

They might like being officially acknowledged by the main site. It could work out as something mutually beneficial. And you might at least get a Korean translation of the help manual.

Definitely, agree! :+1:
I've already made a small mention on the homepage, but I think I could add a Korean phpbb category sublink to their site under "Other languages".
Thoughts?

I know better than to promise anything, but perhaps I am able to contribute a bit, as soon as I get into the specific french programming terminology and rolling again.
Theoretically, I should be qualified - but my last translations into french date back some time.

If I understand you correctly, I think you should put their site link under "Other Languages". It would be like a more significant mention.

I'll get on both these tasks later today.
