It would be nice if the forum ...

Had a system to rate the most useful and interesting script ...
to reward in a certain way the author of it.
I mean all users should have the opportunity to vote the script that they feel more useful
for example with a like...

I think you mean like a Kudos point system?
It's been discussed here before: https://www.autohotkey.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=50565
..but I'm not quite sure what the final consensus was. Perhaps you could also add your input there too. :+1:

There seems to be a working plugin/mod available here: https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=2500296

Interesting,i didn't know that kudos system...The thanks button is the least we can do to thank all those who post their code.....
This forum and the old version too, are full of great and useful scripts...the authors deserve
at least one public thank...

As it is, no one prevents anyone from thanking another user.

Yes, but with one specific button is more fast and clear that
to write one new post... imho

Fast yes. Clear no.
As soon as you introduce some quantative mechanics, manipulations and (formal and informal) competitions will begin, and envy will ensue. This is how people work.
I got called out for making this prediction before, but if you look at the last 15 years (the advent of social media) - or just other forums, it's pretty obvious what will happen.

I, personally, would like to stay away from the mechanisms of social media as far as I can. They are broken and toxic (admittedly, there is much more to it than (public) like buttons, but they are definitely part of certain unfortunate developments).

To be clear, I am absolutely for feedback and thanking (a lot), just not for the (over-simplifying and easily manipulable) numbers game of counting clicks.

and gregster, thanks again for your fine reasoning.
