Cannot add solutions to old forum - Google search results

Hello,

I want to note that I wanted to add a solution to a post in the old forum, but obviously that is forbidden.

However, google still leads me to topics in the archived forums every time I search for something and it's really frustrating to not be able to safe people who end up on the same page without sufficient answers...

If you want to continue one of the archived discussions, open a new topic and link to the old topic.

Google will surely find the new topic, too, after a while. That will help other people to find the correct forum.

But the archived forums won't come back. They are running on a different software and were closed many years ago. Much of it is deprecated anyway - or replicated/superceeded in the "new" forums. The old forums are kept as an archive, because there are still some useful nuggets in there.

Yeah, true that. But unfortunately also unsolved / badly solved problems. You're right, time will lead Google to the new forum.
