Haha, thanks. It was well worth all the effort to pester Chris into putting those in. He initially found these commands to be too advanced for his target users, so I did my bit to make it easier for anyone not familiar with them :)

Well, only if other mods and admins deem it worth it.

I have a question.
Is there any way to add a new line after the comment.box.start.ahk1 and before the comment.box.end.ahk1
I've tried with `n and \n but it's pasted as literal

Sometimes InternalAHK.exe file hangs and is unable to terminate itself properly even after scite.exe has been closed yet. This yields issue when debugger doesn't respond to user clicks and keyboard shotcuts like F5, F7, Ctrl + Shift + F7, etc.
To fix it temporary I have to kill that process using task manager.
Here is a command line of that process:

I can't reproduce the issue by request despite it appears quite often.
Please check if the debugger terminates correctly.

Why not? Now, id say that it's the "official" editor. and we are 3 that potentially agree that this can be a sticky topic. ;)

I'm afraid there isn't sorry.

Well, if you find a way to reliably reproduce this bug please let me know so that I can fix it. In the mean time stop the debugging before closing SciTE.

Well, I don't want to abuse the admin/mod powers to promote one of my projects. Any decision like this must be consensuated first, 3 mods/admins are not enough.

+1 True. I have thought about it..., but you are right. I completely agree.

If we're going to play officials here, I might point out that AHK Studio has been completely rewritten from scratch, and is written *in* AHK. If you do make S4AHK the official editor, I'd at least like a mention of maestrith's studio near the top of the page or something

First off- I just want to say a big THANK YOU Fincs for all your work on this! I love using SciTE for AutoHotKey and have even tweaked it to use for Python which is great cause I don't have to remember a ton of new hotkeys.

Having said that, I installed the update the other day and had SciTE windows not populating or getting "locked"/inactive. Unfortunately I had a lot going on and reverted to my previous version w/o troubleshooting. I was just curious if anyone else experienced a similar issue. When things calm down I can re-try and try and capture some errors if need-be.

thank you,
Joe

Yes, you are right. AHK Studio is an excellent piece of work and deserves some recognition. Currently, this is (clearly) no "official" editor. I imagine making no stickies in Scripts would be the "proper/fair" action for now.
If anyone else has an anything to say on the editors or whatever, I would be glad to hear more opinions. ;)

I don't think that making S4AHK the 'official editor' is a good idea nor AHK Studio.

I use Notepad++ ;)
But making the 2 posts sticky is a better solution (IMHO).

There are a lot of useful scripts and utilities that aren't editors. I think it would be more appropriate to create a new sticky thread with links to the two editors and any other threads about AutoHotkey support in other editors, like Notepad++.

+1. This is also why I was reluctant to making this thread sticky. There are other editors whose authors have put a lot of effort into them (e.g. AHK Studio) that also deserve recognition.

Yes, that is actually a great idea!
I would name it something like [AutoHotkey Programming Tools]

I agree there should be a sticky somewhere that talks about editors for AHK. It is a very important part of coding with AHK.

If a new user downloads AHK and only uses something like basic Notepad to code then they are missing out on a huge advantage a proper editor adds to the process.

Not sure if it should be in this section or maybe in the Tutorial section.

FG

PS. I really appreciate SciTE4AutoHotkey. To be honest it was the first editor I used for AHK and I never felt the need to try another.

It would not be a tutorial.
Scripts and Functions
Post your working scripts, libraries and tools

That's pretty much it, but maybe categorise and definitely put (brief) descriptions.

I was thinking more along the lines of a topic just for editors, but it's probably fine if you just make the topic title clearer. For example, "Editors and other tools for scripting". Most users probably don't consider themselves programmers.
