Hide window while keeping taskbar item/button visible and selectable

Hi,

I am interested in making a virtual desktop program with AHK, similar to dexpot but with a dimension per monitor.

This seems overall quite possible but the issue I'm having in trying to prove this can work, is that I want windows to not lose their taskbar icons when they are hidden. They don't need to be alt-tabable, but just like with dexpot, they should stay on the taskbar at all times.

Is this possible with AHK? I have spent a really long time googling around and searching through the forums, so now I am asking.
