Beginner here...
I'm trying to make a form-filler tool that my coworkers and I can use to auto-type text into webforms.
I hope to use IniRead, because my handy AHK GUI can pull from different sections of the ini/text file for the various forms we have to fill.
An .ini file versus a .txt file doesn't make much difference to me, but my coworkers will be much more comfortable making edits to a .txt file. This will let each person customize the auto-text that gets entered. I looked at FileRead, but it doesn't appear that I can pull from different sections of the file, with FileRead.
So then I thought to try IniRead, but have it read from a text file...
Code: Select all
#NoEnv ; For security
#SingleInstance force
;==================================
::=ini1::
;IniRead, myContent, Filename, Section, Key [, Default]
IniRead, txtreason, tPWN.txt, upcoming reeval, reason for action
MsgBox %txtreason%
return
::=ini2::
;IniRead, OutputVarSection, Filename, Section
IniRead, txtsection, tPWN.txt, upcoming reeval
MsgBox %txtsection%
return
::=ini3::
;IniRead, OutputVarSectionNames, Filename
IniRead, txtall, tPWN.txt
MsgBox %txtall%
return
Before getting too involved with this idea though.... I thought I should check with you guys... Am I likely to run into problems if I head in this direction?
My overall plan is to have, maybe 8 to 16 sections. Probably only one key per section. The overall txt file would never be more than 10 to 15 pages long.
I haven't looked into how yet, but my plan is to have this tool as a separate exe. My main tool (an altered version of the AutoCorrect.ahk one) will launch this autotext form-filler tool when a hotkey is pressed. Then my form-filler tool will load the text file (or ini file if I have to go that way) all the way into RAM first thing, so that the script will be fast (and not have to read the file from my hard drive during run time).
(I hope that explanation made sense.)
TL;DR: Is it permissible to use a text file with IniRead?
