Store strings from excel and output each character as a keypress

14 Feb 2020, 09:11

Hello!

I'm pretty new to AHK trying to optimize some repetitive work at my job. I've created a script that copy a cell from excel and paste it into a specific field on a web page.
But now I stumbled across a scroll list where I want to select the same item as my excel cell.

For example:
- Excel cell A1 contain "banana"
- The scroll list on the web page have following options:
Apple
Banana
Orange
Pear

Usually I have just pasted cell A1 to paste "banana" but in a scroll list i need to actively press "b" "a" "n" "n" "a" "enter" for "banana" to be selected.

Is there any way I can read what my cell in excel say and press each individual key? So if it says "421" in cell A2, AHK will press "4" "2" "1". I also need the possibility to loop the script to read another cell and press another key combination depending on what is written in that cell.

Thanks!
