Can autohotkey take precedence over mapped key in other sofware such as word?

Hello everyone!

Hope my question is clear.

I want to use AHK for a bunch of text strings I constantly use. Some of them will be mapped onto Alt,Crtl and function key that Microshlop Word, Excel or other sofware already use.

Can the AHK scripts take precedence over all these key maps?

Just make the hotkey. For example, run this then press Ctrl+S in Word.
