Repeat key presses after held for amount of time

Hi, I'm trying to get my script to repeat key presses after holding the hotkey for a certain amount of time.
For example, I want to press the up arrow, and after 3 seconds it press the up arrow 5 times. But If I press the up arrow for less than 3 seconds it sends it once like normal
I've tried messing around with keywait but it doesnt seem to work. Thanks in advance

I don't understand you.
If you press and hold the up arrow then the Windows Autorepeat sends already 3 seconds ago, much more than 5 up arrows.
