Logic Problem

Good Morning. Someone could help me with a Logica problem.
I want to search a database for the function of the employees but the functions are repeated many times and I wanted to get it only once so as not to get repetitive, my question is how do I make this filter to be just one of each.

I see only one logical problem: Storing a result of a calculation (in variable and/or file) is only useful if this effort =(effort for programming, storing the result and finding it) is less than the effort for repeated execution of the calculation.
In the case of a storage, if a result is not present (in variable and/or file) then the calculation did not take place yet.
