How do I find the SendMessage/PostMessage numbers?

What tool do I use to find the numbers to use with SendMessage and PostMessage? The tutorial says Winspector Spy, but the software appears ancient and attempting to google a download link gives suspicious download.com softpedia.com links that I do not trust.

which numbers??

• windows msg codes? the headers in the windows SDK, the MSDN docs will tell u where to look for them
• lparam/wparam? for microsoft stuff, MSDN. for other apps, whatever documentation their devs gave u. they didnt give u any? u gotta figure it out on ur own with spy++ then
• other apps' msg codes? their documentation or reverse engineer them urself
