i just bought a refurbished Dell Optiplex 745 SFF Core 2 Duo 1.8GHz 2GB 120GB XP for $118.45 USD total. :lol: :ugeek:

...I have thrown away about 30 of these in the last year...

yes, but! these must be "professionally" refurbished, certified, etc., and offered through reputable and qualified stores (Amazon, etc.). they must also offer limited warranties and after-service, and maintain established past customer-satisfaction history and ratings. :ugeek:

Hence the trash can post disk removal (and subsequent destruction).

Could have maybe gotten a few bucks each as a core to be refurbished by one of those companies, but too much trouble.
