As long as the German sub-forum stays as 'busy' as is, I don't see the need to seperate. It might make sense though, if it would reduce the administrative effort.

If more sub-forums would be added, it might be a good idea to offer a 'fold' function. (As often as I try i cannot understand the things going on in the Chinese sub-forum).

My statement was only a brain-fart (suggestion) not meant as a request ;)
Let's say you add any additional native language support subforum (eg a Russian one, which would be fair enough) I'd opt for to "outsource" those (in the future, not today or tomorrow) to be set up as seperate "clones". That btw is nothing new as phpBB is doing it exact same way ...

About the multilanguage support of this forum, I agree with tank.
Currently English and other languages subforums (German and Chinese) are expanded in one page. Sometimes new Chinese users don't see the Chinese subform in the bottom, So I suggest that keep English forum unchanged but move other subforums to a separated page. Just leave their link (with the local name or flag) on the top of the English forum. Maybe clicking a link one time is more convenient than rolling down many times (It will be better experience to open the first page of the forum).

not inactive, no direct link, difficult to get it, maybe contact author (who ?) and change the path, and an online doc by default... also to add a link of chinese suforum on the .chm file home page, http://ahkscript.org/boards/viewforum.php?f=26 not only http://ahkscript.org | AutoHotkey 中文化项目
Thanks for your advice. When update the help next time, I'll add the link of Chinese subforum.
http://ahkscript.org | AutoHotkey 官方中文子论坛
The online doc is here. For these I have much work to do.
nnnik wrote:One part of my "Job" as an Admin here is to exchange results between the German and the English forum.
I can understand english I can partly talk english but if I had to learn AHK in english... nope wont do that, it would have been impossible.
Its like I understand each word but it still makes no sense, just like most of the german community members are in the beginning.
I would simply leave if you would close the german subforum, just like any other german subforum member.
I would move back to Autohotkey.com, just like any other german subforum member.
The same for most Chinese. However, our condition is worse than you and the local forum (ahk8.com) is unstable.

I think the current forum index is too cluttered. I think it should read like this:

Code: Select all

AutoHotkey Foundation
  - About ahkscript.org
  - Forum Issues
AutoHotkey
  - Ask for Help
  - Script and Functions
  - Tutorials
  - Wish List
  - Bug Reports
  - AutoHotkey v2 Development
  - Announcements
General
  - Other Utilities & Resources
  - Other Programming Languages
  - Offtopic
International
  - Deutsch (German) (click on it to go to the German section index)
  - Chinese 中文 (Chinese) (as above)
By section index I mean a subpage similar to that which already exists.

Done. However we need descriptions for the German/Chinese sections, in those languages. There's also a weird bug that makes the Gaming sub-section appear for no reason in the global forum index page.

Request help for the Chinese subforum:
这里中文用户可以用自己熟悉的语言交流和分享(包括简体和繁体)。

+1, but I think the English forum is the "international" one and would use 'National Forums' as caption.

I don't know.... It feels weird... Why not simply have 'other languages' or something... A few examples:
http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewforum.php?f=90
http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewforum.php?f=54
http://forum.joomla.org/viewforum.php?f=542
http://forums.gentoo.org/index.php?c=11

I like how the Audacity forum has Country Flags on the side! Pictures help, especially when trying to grab attention! You don't want to make them feel isolated do you? Add some color! :)

It's just a plain ol' forum icon that can be changed with plain phpBB AFAIU.

Thank a lot! Even it is not me that you listened about an "other languages" section for clean main page (I cried and claimed, 8 months ago), where are original first threads about what we will do of this website?
