Best Text Editor for AHK?
Re: Best Text Editor for AHK?
Thank you gregster.
Re: Best Text Editor for AHK?
Definately AHK Studio, customized with a toolbar to look like Scite
Re: Best Text Editor for AHK?
I've always used SciTE4autohotkey. I like it.
Re: Best Text Editor for AHK?
I have made a separate topic of this, try it out and let me know what you think of it.

I haven't seen this bug before, maybe try to download a fresh version.teadrinker wrote: ↑04 Feb 2020, 15:20AHK Studio looks interesting, but there are bugs, it spoils the impression. For instance for some reason AS sometimes can't display the file complitely:
SciTE:
AHK Studio:
But AHK Studio indeed has some bug's in it, (lately the only bug I encounter is that the mouse menu does not pop up...)
The extra functionalities let you code on a whole different level, It uses the possibilities of ahk to help you.
Scite is indeed more stable, and a great editor for beginners, but if your code is getting longer, complicated and more advanced, I would recommend AHK Studio.

Just have downloaded the latest version — same problem. That file is in the user library folder (%A_MyDocuments%\AutoHotkey\Lib\). When I copied it to the desktop and tried to open it using AS, it was shown correctly, but disappeared from the library tree in the field on the right:
When I closed AS and opened again, the file never appeared in the library tree.

Notepad++, a syntax highlighting bug:
Re: Best Text Editor for AHK?
I usually use Notepad ++.
One reason is that it is easy to search e.g. all variables and what rows they are on. Can also search in all open files, and it is possible to have two scripts side by side. (I would like to have some more fully functional color schemes in Notepad++)
I like the comments in SciTE4autohotkey (with italics characters.
Have tested AHK Studio and Visual Studio too little, to comment on these. (Did not find the search function above)

Here are my thoughts on the matter... It depends both on your level of expertise and how often you program in languages other than AutoHotkey
