WINGET return values for non-existing windows

26 May 2020, 09:59

All the subcommands of the WINGET command accept a window specification.

For some of the winget subcommands, the following is stated:
If there is no matching window, OutputVar is made blank.
I believe this statement applies to ALL the subcommands of WINGET. This would also make me feel the statement should be with the definition of OUTPUTVAR, and not listed (many times!) with each different subcommand.

You're wrong, because:

ID: blank
IDLast: blank (not documented)
PID: blank (not documented)
ProcessName: blank
ProcessPath: blank
Count: 0
List: 0
MinMax: blank
ControlList: blank
ControlListHwnd: blank
Transparent: blank
TransColor: blank
Style: blank
ExStyle: blank

But at least your report was not completely in vain ;) - I will add this statement to IDLast and PID.

Thanks Ragnar. Like I said: "I believe this statement....". I was not absolutely certain; however, it was clear there is a problem.

Please note:

It also APPEARS that WINGETCLASS and WINGETTITLE also suffer the same deficiency.
