Some forums have a "thanks button" that way other members can thank someone for script or response without the need to create a post. The "thank you" can also be used to sort posts although I don't recommend that, just a "thank you" would be nice enough.

We had discussion about Thanks button and also +1 and -1 buttons here. Now I am not sure is it good to make Thank you button or not but I am not against it too. Previously I thought that +1 and -1 buttons was good idea, but now I am strongly against +1 and -1 buttons.
If you implement Thanks button, it will be nice to make it so, that it should not show below post the names of those who pushed that button. I think the list of people who pushed button below each post will make unnecessary visual and informational noise and make theard look worse. Also for other reasons I think it is better to make them anonymous. Just only show numbers of thankses received below member avatar, no more things.
