Hotkey WheelUp only works on webapps

Post by adrian88888888 » 01 Dec 2022, 21:57

Hi!
Why an empty script with just this does not work?

Code: Select all

WheelUp::MsgBox, a
only works when webapps are in focus(chrome, discord, github desktop, trello, skype)
or its just me?
Thanks!

It's just you, your elevated windows, games that block scripting, and your other hotkeys that are active at the same time! And it could be me, but not just me.

-I don't have games in this pc, so is not that
-I suspect that could be conflicts with others scripts so I already closed them all, so is not that
-So the only thing is: What you mean by elevated windows?(I suspect it has something to do whit admin rights, I executed it as admin and nothing)

I don't even know how to google this

"Elevated" meaning with special rights or privileges under Microsoft Windows.

An initial easy test would be to use Notepad as your target window, and test there first. If it doesn't work, switch to a different hotkey, and see if that works. If that does work, then it might mean that some other program is using the Wheel hotkey. Close your other programs while testing: Chrome, Discord, github desktop, Trello, Microsoft Office, and Skype, for example.

-it only happens with WheelUp and WheelDown, with the rest of the hotkeys works with no problems
-went to task manager and closed everything that I could, also went to the tray menu and closed everything there, and then tried, still not working
-I discover that when the task bar or start menu is in focus it works just like it did with the webapps

It sounds like a software conflict of some kind. Would close all tray-resident programs, keyboard and mouse utilities, clipboard managers, etc. If you installed Logitech or Kensington software, Razer, X-Mouse, etc., uninstall. Check Task Manager to see what is running. Use AHK version 1.1.35.00. Can also reboot and see if the issue persists. Task Manager shows startup programs in the Startup tab. Additional programs may run via Task Scheduler. Check tray overflow area.

A normal mouse works(I use the trackpad of this laptop, a laptop old like the sun)
It was the trackpad drivers, I updated to the "last" version(2015) and now it does not work even in the webapps!!...... ...... I think its time to use other hotkeys
Thanks for being there my friend!

There might be a trackpad or touchpad setting in either Windows settings or the drivers that you could adjust. Maybe worth a look anyway.
