Because of his crack pot business ideas, Thomas Flanagan was regarded as ‘a mad-man ahead of his time’.
His ‘Internet Cafe’ venture was not only unheard of, it made absolutely no sense to the people of Waterford.

So i am by no means supportive of abortion. But i dont think the government has any constitutionally granted authority to regulate our health and bodies. Someone feel free to show me where in the US constitution where that legislative power is granted. absurdly, no legally define law about so called illegal substances or restricting mode of travel should be allowed by the federal government. The supreme court decision today only said abortion isnt defined as a right in the US constitution. and that IS TRUE. Limiting the power to legislate beyond constitutionally defined limits is in fact the role of SCOTUS. But why start here, with this specific topic? Feels politically motivated. there are far greater and more egregious overreach of the legislative branch to tackle. Unless congress wishes to pass legislative measures to legally define "life" as which would necessarily apply to people in a vegetative state as well, In other words, these are the legal properties of a life as is covered by the constitution, which would be semi legit way to restrict. otherwise there is no constitutionally granted power to legislate body modification. in other words if they won't legally define life then they similarly cant regulate your body. because there is no legally defined distinction between a life and a part of a woman's body.

-- World leaders slam 'horrific' US abortion ruling - CNA
OTTAWA: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Friday (Jun 24) slammed the US Supreme Court decision to throw out the right to abortion in the United States.
"The news coming out of the United States is horrific," he said in a Twitter message.
"No government, politician, or man should tell a woman what she can and cannot do with her body."
The US top court's six judges named by Republican presidents overturned the landmark 1973 "Roe v Wade" decision that enshrined the right to an abortion,
saying that individual states can now permit or restrict the procedure themselves.
The three Democratic appointees dissented.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson called the Supreme Court decision "a big step backwards".
Johnson, in Kigali for a Commonwealth heads of government meeting, said the court's rulings have "massive impacts on people's thinking around the world".
"I think it's a big step backwards. I've always believed in a woman's right to choose and I stick to that view, and that's why the UK has the laws that it does."
French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday condemned the ruling, saying it was a challenge to women's freedoms.

WASHINGTON: The US Supreme Court on Friday (Jun 24) took the dramatic step of overturning the landmark 1973 Roe v Wade ruling that recognised a woman's constitutional right to an abortion
and legalised it nationwide, handing a momentous victory to Republicans and religious conservatives who want to limit or ban the procedure.

Netherlands / Rotterdam
------------------
https://jnews.uk/jeff-bezos-vs-the-bridge-rotterdams-dilemma-over-billionaires-superyacht/ 2022-06-18
Jeff Bezos faces an obstacle before he can sail the world’s biggest superyacht, commissioned by the Amazon founder at the cost of $ 500mn: Rotterdam’s Koningshaven Bridge.
Oceanco, the Dutch maker of the 417-foot boat codenamed Y721, is seeking permission from the city to temporarily dismantle the central section of the 95-year-old bridge, known by the locals as “De Hef”.
That would allow the yacht’s three 70-meter tall masts to pass through Rotterdam’s port from the nearby shipyard where it is being constructed.
The idea of a billionaire sailing his luxury boat through the city’s canals went against the “Rotterdam way of life”,
which he defined as “working hard, building things, having a laugh, drinking a beer and looking out for each other ”.

are the masts required to work? Could he have them temporarily removed and sent to another shipping yard and have them re-attached once in the clear. Ofcourse that wouldn't be asserting dominance over a small bridge :P

If not, hope he's forever locked in.
rawr. fear me.

Last week, Louisiana insurance commissioner Jim Donelon held a press conference to announce some very bad news.
A few months earlier, a major insurance company called Lighthouse had gone bankrupt, leaving almost 30,000 homeowners in the state without storm coverage.
The company went under thanks to last year’s Hurricane Ida, which led to $400 million in damage claims, far more money than the company had on hand.
It had been up to Donelon to find a new company to take over these abandoned policies, but no other company wanted them.
In fact, other companies were fleeing the state en masse.
