Working with GUIs on other monitor = Cheating?

Post by Scr1pter » 23 May 2022, 17:31

Hello,

A general question:
When using different monitors, can it be considered as hacking if any stuff is being done on a display where the game is not running to?

I have 3 displays:
Monitor 1 (left)
- has different GUIs which show me for example cpu, ram, volume, clock

Monitor 2 (center)
- is my main display (where games are running)

Monitor 3 (right)
- is something like a helper monitor, e.g. vlc player, word documents or just a browser for web television

I would like to change the GUI color on the left display while playing, to know that I toggled some keys and buttons.
(e.g. peforming teamsayings instead of picking a weapon etc.)
I used AHK to change my LEDs, but it does not work anymore because of this damn GHub.

So practically nothing is done on the game display, but I'm still afraid a game could think I'm cheating because graphical operations are done.

Any experiences with such things?
I don't think there should be any problem.

Cheers!

Hallo,
some games already consider it a crime to run the Autohotkey.exe process. I think that is the reason why compiling is so popular.

It's not classed as cheating, unless its moddifing or changing how a game is run, yes some games may block AHK. But the above can be done. I have my game running on say right monitor then say if I press alt f8 will load Hardware info on the left, or pop up gui windows etc.
