Is it just me?
I always think that I have a new private message when I look at the icons on top because of the filled white circle over the letter icon.
I think it would be less confusing if the icon is stripped of that white dot.

That's just tiny bit of weirdness in the theme....
But if you do have messages, it will be a bright red bubble (with a number) which seems clear enough to me.
