Be happy, it's about 30 seconds here!

Yes, I get a lot of connection timeouts. Almost unusable right now.

Copied my response from here: https://github.com/AutoHotkey/AutoHotkeyDocs/issues/637#issuecomment-1473881683
I am not sure, what happened yet. Anyway, I have turned on "under attack mode" on cloudflare. Should help for now.
Edit: just got an email a few minutes a got of DDOS attack at 2023-03-17T13:55:23Z UTC

yes, now everything opens instantaneously

which means if the delays were truly caused by ddosing, then some mini-ddosing must have been going on for at least the past month or so(maybe even longer), because the forums have been slow for a good while now. its just a random coincidence that i was annoyed enough by it to post about it today

Is it typical for the submission of replies or posts to take a few seconds?

^this is whats been most noticable for me for the past month or two

edit: and just happened right now with this post (while the rest of the forum is fast)
edit2: submitting the edit was fast, but submitting the original reply was slow

Yes, it's been on and off. I wasn't sure if it was just me, but this feedback convinces me. Thanks all for sharing and voicing btw. :+1:
Not sure, why, but it seems that yes, we are being "mini-ddos-sed" every so often.

I can only assume these are attempts in taking the domain for ad revenue or some kind money-motivated reason...

Edit: yet another DDOS email from cloudflare:

Code: Select all

2023-03-17T19:25:28Z UTC
Max rate 300.00 rps
HTTP Flood
3M+ requests in the last hour, most of them cached... without cloudflare we'd be down... :?

@joedf - JFTR, if I try to access the AHK forum (…/boards) using a browser with DuckDuckGo the site prevents me from entering it by displaying a "confirm you are a human"-confirmation checkbox dialog. Once confirmed it’s going into a loop loading the same page again (and again,…).
So I've done the same now using Chrome - that allowed me to access.
AFAICS, the whole event gets managed by Cloudflare, right?
Any ideas??

@BoBo i can probably turn it off now... But yes, that's a measure by cloudflare in "under attack mode".

lol "ddos friday" ... nice
Seems okay for me right now... If it gets worse, I'll turn on attack mode again for a bit.

Edit: yep... pretty slow. Turned it on for now..

Honestly, the forum is much more usable in attack mode…. The cloudlfare thing is a minor nuisance to endure for a performant and snappy experience while navigating the forum. I’m sure it’s possible that others have different experiences but just thought I’d share my opinion on the matter.

Yeah, it's only showing like 1-2 times for me, then got for the rest of the day... might just keep it on... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

DIsabling Attack mode, as it seems to cause issues with the docs not updating and downloads being occasionally broken
