That my friend, is why I don't use an Anti-Virus. If you're well informed about cybersecurity and how to approach situations and know in depth why AVs flag AHK, it's worth considering if you want an AV in the first place because it doesn't just do false positives, but also take some resources away. On top of it, AVs are not going to care about a non-mainstream language, which is a shame in my opinion...

That is a very uninformed, perhaps ignorant stance on cyber security. Good antivirus can detect things you pick up from legit sources that you may not even be aware of. But what do I know not like I did pen testing for a bank or anything

You are not giving us any details about the situation. Instead of creating panic, we might be more studied about such situations. For anybody to be helpful, some basic details are needed such as:

1) What kind of antivirus are you using?
2) What version of Windows/OS?
3) Where (link) did you download the files from, that is giving the alert?

Usually, where AutoHotkey is concerned, it's a false-positive. But it is still good to confirm we are dealing with authentic and official files. In that way, when the files are sent to the antivirus companies, they can give the proper results.

It's not conventionally recommended to not be using antivirus protection. And if the person is using the Windows OS, Windows Defender and related are free. The person can also add an exclusion, which may resolve the issue, though its better to submit the files in question to Microsoft first. Microsoft will usually respond within 24 hours.
