@submeg: Great! Happy New Year to you too! Things are well on my end.
@beeski: Does "fresh" Radial menu v4.48 work for you?

Radial menu application updated to v4.48 What's new?
  • updated links
  • includes newest AutoHotkey
  • internal maintenance
I hadn't run this update, and coming back to work today, I booted up my scripts, saw the Radial Menu GUI show up, then close, but RM wasn't running. WHAT!

Tried to start it via the .ahk file, tried to trace it in the file as to where it was getting stuck, and I thought you should just check the thread...

Lucky I did, doing the update has everything working once more. Amazing stuff @Learning one!

Spoke too soon! After doing the update, all the icons are in a reversed order?

@Learning One, any ideas?

my RM doesn't seem to want to launch (i succesfully updated to v4.48, at least the update produced a success message; Win7). would you have any pointers as to why this may be?
I just noticed mine not wanting to stay open.
I'm not sure what it was but I had to insist in replacing the file "radial menu/internal/codes/RMApp lib.ahk" to make it work again.

Hi. I had the same issue of the program not opening after W10 updated so I updated RM and it boots up again, but now none of my shortcuts seem to do anything. Can you help me? They're very simple shortcuts to send single keyboard inputs or with modifier keys, like

Code: Select all

fun Send|"h"
or

Code: Select all

fun Send|+b
I've tried a fresh install too just in case, and changing a shortcut to one of the above, and nothing happens when I use it. If I can help diagnose the problem in some way please let me know. RM has become a key component of my workflow and I'd like to be able to continue using it.

submeg: I see different layout in radial menu designer and in radial menu screenshot. Have you modified internal codes / played with custom layouts?
safetycar: If you manually replaced only RMApp lib.ahk, I have to say it's recommended to run update to v4.48 because it also updates other files in RM.
Kuroon: Have you put your custom Send function in RM\My codes\My functions.ahk or somewhere else? Post that function here on the forum and we'll try to see if something is wrong...

Oooh, I forgot Send was a custom function I added. I must've copied the snippet from someone else years ago and completely forgot about it. Then, in the copy to the new version, the file with the custom functions didn't transfer over, and thus why nothing was working. I moved it and it works now. Sorry for the confusion.

Hey @Learning One, I ran the update tool to go from the previous version to the current one, and yes, I've modified how many items are in each ring: 10 - 15 - 20 - 25 - 30 (but this last ring doesn't appear). Would it be better to do a new install and make the mods from there?

Hey @Learning one, I was able to sort this out; I went and downloaded the zip for "new" installs and then copied across my icons, menus and functions and all is well. I made my mods to the number of bubbles per ring in both the view and the designer and all is well.

Now I just need to enable that fifth ring and it will be perfect!

Unfortunately you can have max 4 rings... See this in RMD.ahk comments:

Code: Select all

; - although RMD can theoretically display unlimited number of rings, RM2module supports up to 4 rings.

Could I add this to a wishlist @Learning one?

To all:

Is there a way to show the menu without dragging the mouse down?

@submeg
Look at the RM help file, General settings:

Code: Select all

[General]
RMSelectMethod =	release
RMShowHotkey =		RButton
RMShowMethod =		D

Hi, tried to comment as proposed below but it does not change the cursor behavior... anything else to modify ?
Thanks for help

@Whitherboss: "Mouse spring back thing" is hard coded. In my opinion, calling main menu without this feature this doesn't feel right. However, it can be disabled by modifying internal codes; by completely deleting the following lines in RM\Internal\Codes\RMApp lib.ahk (not recommended):

Code: Select all

if RMShowMethod is not digit
{
Sleep, 30
MouseMove, imx1, imy1
}
There's also related feature; CenterMouseOnSubmenuOpen, which isn't hard coded and can be modified by editing RM\Menu definitions\General settings.txt

Hi, is it mandatory to use another trigger (another hotkey) to launch Context-sensitive radial menus ? I mean different than the trigger used to launch RM main menu. I am asking this because I tried to use the same trigger but it works for contect menu but it stops working for the main menu. I hope I am clear enough...
Thx

I have mouse gestures on several buttons, includding middle mouse button. I can make it so that the middle mouse button gestures are disabled on certain applications, but it will only allow a middle mouse click and not holding it down to be passed. Is there a way around this? Currently I just manually disable RM whenever I launch something where I need to drag with middle mouse button.
