Loop for online automation

Hello I was wondering if someone would help.. what's standard protocol or suggested tools for navigating and filling out text fields on webpages?

I've written a script with clicks and sleep and send and it is long and tedious but does work.

Just a point in the right direction would be fine no need to write it... I'm guessing an array?
