Opening a picture with a different program than the default one

Post by Kawaki » 01 Aug 2021, 08:28

Hi,

I use "Windows photo Viewer" to open any kind of picture by default on W10 (still), but sometimes i need to open a particular picture with another program, let's say Honeyview and automatize the opening with AHK. A simple "run, C:\file" script would open it with the default program, not the one i want. I also don't want to change the default program to run that file since it would apply to all pictures with the same extension. Searched on the net, didn't find what i wanted.

Any idea on how to do it?

Thank you.

You can use Run and then specify the program followed by the image file path.

Wow, it works. I can't believe it was so simple. With AHK it's always more complicated to do something than expected, first time that's not the case. I even thought about doing this before but figured it was way too stupid and it wouldn't work like that. Thank you.
