Sometimes I need bits of code.
Very simple. But will take me 1-4 hours say to code.
This involves researching the solution and asking on the forum a few times.
The code will maybe be 10-20 lines max, say for example.
An AHK expert... could knock out what I need in 5 minutes say.
OK... it's never '5 minutes' - but if I got 90% of what I wanted... I would be able to take it from there.
I'd be happy to pay $5 for the '5 minutes' work mentioned above
But then if it got to $20 say... I get tight and think, screw it, I can just do it myself!!
(Just being honest.)
Just wondering... where can I get AHK freelancers? For very small projects?
I've tried 2 freelancing websites, but getting have no luck.
Where to get AHK freelancers (for small projects)?

I'm pretty good at AHK, I've been programming with it for around 15 years. And I'm currently looking for extra sources of income. I'd be happy to do some of these small projects for you. Send me a private message if you'd like to discuss further

Hey Snowy,
I might have a couple of small jobs for you - but I just registered and can't DM. Are you able to message me?

Re: Where to get AHK freelancers (for small projects)?
I think, everyone who needs the help and is ready to pay for it, should just post a task at "Ask for help" subforum and mention that the job will be paid (for $/hour or $ fix).
I'm personally ready to write some not very complex code, for example, for $15/hr or maybe even cheaper since I just like coding AHK scripts. But I think, someone like @mikeyww or @teadrinker would perform the same task 10 times faster and it will be more sense in paying $100/hr to them than $15/hr to me .

Have found any drawback in my code or approach? Please, point it out. /The moderator ordered to remove the rest of the signature, I had obeyed.
And I really apologize for our russian president. Being a citizen of an aggressor country is very shameful. Personally I tried to avoid this trying to defend elections from fraud being a member of the election commission of one of the precincts but only was subjected to a hooligan attack and right before the vote count was illegally escorted from the polling station and spent the night behind bars (in jail) in a result of illegal actions of corrupt policemen.

Re: Where to get AHK freelancers (for small projects)?
I think the general topic of charging for freelance work is a bit more complex than it might seem. It appears to me that the spirit of AutoHotkey and the forum is to provide a free utility scripting language and free help from volunteers (who enjoy programming, the language, and helping others). So, somebody who is truly a freelance programmer might not be so active or watchful of here, versus elsewhere that is for the dedicated purpose.
If a person specifically doesn't want to do the programming and needs some type of script or application done for them, then I do think its fine for them to post about the terms and pay in the General Discussion section. But, there are various issues that should be taken into consideration:
1) Are the terms and complexity worth it for very small or highly involved projects of little pay?
It can be insulting to be asking advanced to professional programmers to build complex and involved applications for say 5 dollars for 100 hours of work. Consequently, such people might be better off gauging what the true cost of a project is at a dedicated freelancer type website, where experienced programmers will submit bids based on what they think the cost truly is.
Very related to that, is grossly underestimating the cost and time it could take to accomplish a project. "Oh, this will just take 5 minutes and 5 dollars." Then 36 man-hours later... and 20 different requested changes... "Sorry Charlie, but you'll getting only 5 dollars. Oh hell, feeling so generous, let's make it 7 dollars. Don't spend it all in one place."
2) In various cases, the person is a programmer who has built something, and needs a little help to solve an issue that has halted progress.
In those cases, the person might be better served by honesty and describing the problem they are faced with, then posting it in the "Ask for Help" section or maybe other AutoHotkey related help sites.
3) If the request is really an involved back and forth project... Do this, then this, then after that want this... Then it might really be a short term job.
If the person making the request is actually a business owner, and wants something back that is of professional quality, then arguably better to be clear and honest about such in their post for better results. Trying to drag or "discount trap" advanced programmers into fuzzy projects, cloudy payment terms, and with no contract might not be for the best.
