String of Unicode Characters and Facebook

Post by GaXve » 02 Aug 2020, 13:46

I have a bit of an odd question.

I'm trying to type the Male Shrug Emoji (specifically), using HotStrings. I've tested it in Google Docs and VSC, and it works fine. In Facebook Messenger however, it's as if the website doesn't "use" the "Zero Width Joiner" (U+200D), and posts all three Unicode characters separately. I've tried copy/pasting the Male Shrug Emoji directly into Facebook Messenger and it works. And so, does anyone have an idea as to what a solution might be (if there is one)?

Code:

Code: Select all

:*o?:shrug[[::
:o?:-:w-::
{
	Send {U+1F937}{U+200D}{U+2642}
	Return
}
