Working with Chrome extensions

Hi,

I'm looking for scripting software, and it seems Pulovers is fitting pretty well.

I have an excel sheet with keywords, the script should open it, paste into Chrome, open extension, do a couple of clicks, wait for results and record results into the excel.
Most of the things are looking doable due to Pulovers features description, but I wonder how to deal with extension.

As an option, can i just make a screenshot, search for extension's icon, get its position and click on it?
Sounds not that stable, but may be fine.

Are there more stable options?
