Hi there!
I am trying to implement AHK at my work and one of the questions that management has asked is if AHK would ever become not free to use and how often we should be expecting the software to be upgraded. I thought I would ask here for confirmation.
Future versions and paid versions?
Re: Future versions and paid versions?
It will always be free. See the mission of the AutoHotkey Foundation.
There are typically several updates a year. It was over 20 years between updates to a new major revision that was not backward compatible with the prior version (the only such case). Is that what you mean by how often you should expect it to be upgraded? Is more often better or worse in their eyes? What are their concerns about upgrades?
Re: Future versions and paid versions?
Exactly as boiler said, we are never going to be pay-ware / commercial software.
