AHK for Mac and Linux - no longer a myth?

Does anyone have any experience using Electron and/or RobotJS? It seems to me that these could be used to create apps (scripts) with similar functionality to AHK. My intent is not to bash AHK for anything -- it's great. For my own needs, I would like to have a little more flexibility with some things.

Even the author of RobotJS says he loves AHK and wants the same functionality for Mac. So, please share your comments or ideas.
