I tried again after un-installing Classic shell:
All scripts seem to work, all compiled scripts seem to work, Thanks to all for support and hints.
AHK x64 works now on my Win 10 system. bye-bye ClassicShell.
special thanks to JoeWinograd who said the reason must be in my system. That's when the penny dropped.
I honestly thought it was worth reporting.

Re: TrayTip not working anymore with Win 10 (1903)
If you can't find it, the W10 ISO download (Media Creation Tool) works very well:I may decide to re-install Win 10 from CD, if I can find it.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
That's the English/US link. Direct download is here:
https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=691209
I used it recently, writing it to a flash drive rather than CD/DVD. When I did it, the download was v1809, but I just clicked on the link and it now has v1903. The install from the flash drive worked perfectly. Regards, Joe

I changed the accepted answer to what started my penny
Jo, thanks for the Flash-drive tip and the download link, this will be very useful to me.

This has come up before.
I believe it has to do with how Windows 10 stores settings for notifications by each executable. Moving or rename an executable may work around it. I do not know where the settings are stored or what causes them to become corrupt.

lexikos Thx for tuning in.
I honestly don't even know for sure, if ClassicShell was the culprit and uninstalling that was the solution, I now realize it could have been fixed by changing the Language back and forth (although unlikely). That's what I did as well, before compiling and testing the scripts.
I can delay re-installing for now as well.
This settles my mind. I will stop looking for settings.I do not know where the settings are stored or what causes them to become corrupt.

Great thread, lexikos...hadn't seen that one. Interesting that maestrith seems to have had the opposite problem from wolf..."a tooltip under x32 it will not display, but using x64 it will". Regards, Joe

Maybe there are different registry keys (or even dialogs) for 64-bit/32-bit.

As I said, it depends on the executable. AutoHotkeyU32.exe and AutoHotkeyU64.exe are different filenames.

Re: [solved] TrayTip not working anymore with Win 10 (1903)
I recently had this issue, and even though there has been some solutions, I found a quick way to get the TrayTip to work on Windows 10 home edition with AHK 1.1.31 installed:
1. in control panel open programs and features
2. right click Autohotkey - uninstall/change - choose change
3. Setup box appears, click options tab
4. check the Add "Run with UI Access" to context menus
And got toast notifications going.

@ororuben
"Run with UI access" runs the script with AutoHotkeyU64_UIA.exe or AutoHotkeyU32_UIA.exe.As I said, it depends on the executable. AutoHotkeyU32.exe and AutoHotkeyU64.exe are different filenames.
