Reduce monitor size by adding frame/bezel

03 Mar 2023, 16:58

My company provided a 30" 2560x1600 monitor, Dell U3023E, and I love the aspect ratio and resolution of it, except 30" is just too big.. boohoo I know. Does anyone know of a way to "frame" or add an artificial bezel to the monitor with black to reduce the size, say to 27"? I can't find anything on the display settings—closest thing is changing the aspect ratio and getting vertical black bars on the sides.. I don't want that though. I would like the "frame" to be forbidden area, no mouse movement or windows allowed to be there.

I'm not sure how you would do this with Autohotkey, they only way that I personally know is through nvidia, assuming you have a nvdia gpu you can right click the desktop choose nvidia control panel and follow this

there is probably a way to do it through intel or amd as well, but I'm not familiar
