Winclip broken on v1?

Post by newcod3r » 30 Aug 2023, 02:42

I've been using Winclip for years to paste rich text, but recently it stopped working and I couldn't figure out why.

I checked it's the correct directory and the file has the right text, but it's just not being pasted. Any idea why?

Code: Select all

#NoEnv ; Recommended for performance and compatibility with future AutoHotkey releases.
SendMode Input ; Recommended for new scripts due to its superior speed and reliability.
SetWorkingDir %A_ScriptDir% ; Ensures a consistent starting directory.

An application that pastes text from the clipboard can retrieve this format to determine which character set was used to generate the text. Note that the clipboard does not support plain text in multiple character sets. To achieve this, use a formatted text data type such as RTF instead. The system uses the code page associated with CF_LOCALE to implicitly convert from CF_TEXT to CF_UNICODETEXT. Therefore, the correct code page table is used for the conversion.

A simple debugging strategy is to shorten and simplify your script until it works. You then have a basis to expand it.

To paste, refer to your new object.

Inspect your variables. Check documentation for file objects.

Code: Select all

#Requires AutoHotkey v1.1.33
#Include d:\utils\WinClip\WinClip.ahk
#Include d:\utils\WinClip\WinClipAPI.ahk
wc := new WinClip

F3::
wc.Clear()
wc.SetRTF("abc")
wc.Paste()
Return

yes, I already used the simplest possible code like what you did above - and it returned nothing.

OK. I'm not sure why you are seeing that. Not the case here. Using a different clipboard manager might do this, though I'm not sure.
