Md5 or similar file signatures for official installers/files

06 Jan 2017, 19:35

Hello all,

isn't there a source where we can verify our download's integrity from the official site? Like a md5 or sha1 checksum or similar?

Regards

Assuming that you mean this website, and you're asking about checksums for the AHK installer/executables: no, they are not officially maintained.

So, there isn't a way to check the file to download to any official source, or what is the official source anyway?

You could just download the file yourself and run a checksum against it using Certutil. Then you would know the checksum for the file currently posted to the downloads section.

This site contains the official download for AHK 1.1x, for which the source can be found here on github. You may compile it yourself, if you'd like, then hash it to create a checksum you could then use. Of course, you would have to do this each time an update is pushed.
