Thanks.
'Front page -> About the foundation -> Certificate of Organization' goes somewhere strange as well.
Edit: on my ipad. Seems to work ok on my laptop??
Edit2: Well, it's working on my iPad now! Did you just fix it?

what font is used for "AutoHotkey" in this logo:
https://autohotkey.com/boards/styles/si ... ogo_hd.png
?
could we replicate that style on the homepage?

Your ipad was most likely showing a cached version at first. Perhaps you refreshed it when it suddenly appeared correctly. I did the same on mine to see the update.TAC109 wrote:Edit2: Well, it's working on my iPad now! Did you just fix it?

+1. It would look much better and be more consistent branding.guest3456 wrote:could we replicate that style on the homepage?

Euhhh.. You must have loaded it when I was uploading it lol
I've never been sure what the font is...
I've always been hesitant between the following:

I've always been hesitant between the following:
Code: Select all
Adobe Clear
(Intel) Clear Sans
Lato
Proxima Nova Regular
Open Sans
Roboto
Segoe UI

I don't have all of those fonts, but details of the "k" and "y" rule out Lato, Open Sans, Roboto, and Segoe UI.
Myriad Pro looks like a dead ringer to me.

Re: New Homepage - Scheduled Next Friday (Feb. 3, 2017)
Myriad Pro does look like it
Segoe UI is pretty close though, and comes on almost all Windows installations
even just removing the bold of the existing font looks closer
edit:
i've submitted a pull request using 'Segoe UI'
here's how it looks:

Really like the new home page. Looks legit, gets right to the point.
Re: New Homepage - Scheduled Next Friday (Feb. 3, 2017)
Wow, that video is the worst thing to have as THE featured video on the AHK homepage.
1. It's almost 3 full minutes of him talking about totally irrelevant stuff before he even mentions AutoHotkey.
2. When he does mention it, one of the first things he says about it is that it often gets detected as a virus.
3. Then he says, "Its scripting language -- the stuff you have to write in to make it work -- is terrible! I mean, really awful!"
The positive thing he says about AHK is that it's a "bodge", which according to him means that it's good for patching together something to work temporarily and will soon fall apart. That's the good thing he has to say about it.
Is this what we want featured prominently on the homepage to try to get new users?

The video is not as bad as you make it out to be, but I agree that it may give a bad first impression.boiler wrote:Wow, that video is the worst thing to have as THE featured video on the AHK homepage.

Complainers, the video is not ideal, so why don't you make a better video and send it to joedf!
Make your own testimonial video... I've thought about it myself.

Because I'm trying to make the site better and grow the popularity of AutoHotkey, that's why. I am making what I consider constructive criticisms because I'm trying to represent the AutoHotkey in the best light possible. If you consider trying to improve things complaining, I'm glad we don't share the same worldview. I've given a lot of my personal time to help people with their AHK questions because I am trying to give back to the community that has helped me so much. When you have done the same, then come back and question my motivations and belittle my comments as complaints.
It's not necessary to have a video to replace it with. I'm saying removing it is a better option.

I feel like nobody ever really took a look at blackholyman's design at all... It's been the same video since the beginning... And would start talking about the details of it ..now?
Anyhow... If you have a preferred option, please post suggestions.
