Script help and auto startup

Post by user29387 » 18 Jan 2022, 05:43

Hi all, first time posting here. Does anyone know how to write a script that would change the wallpaper from picture to solid color (black) back and forth with F12? I already have a script that hides/unhides desktop icons with F12, and would like to add the wallpaper change so that when I press F12 icons are hidden and wallpaper changes to solid black, and when I press F12 again icons are unhidden and wallpaper goes back to my picture background. This is for when I use the laptop with an OLED TV.

Also, I want the script to run at startup, so I added a registry entry for AutoHotKey. It always gives me the "why am I seeing this" page, is it because the script must be named "AutoHotkey.ahk"? I already put it in the AutoHotKey folder where the .exe is. Thanks!

I used the forum search feature at top right. I found the following (did not test).

You can put a link to your script in the startup directory.
