Ok, and now finally, a minimal redesign
My idea was to use the icon colors as follows:
- green for ahk-scripts/autohotkey executable
- orange for "suspended"
- red for "paused"
- blue for "autohotkey files" (special files for your project, like resource files)
And just for fun, a variation, a mockup with the "logo" for the first and second page of an installer (created with ahk, installing ahk in this case, top right in the first page is for app logo/icon)
These files can be downloaded here.

Nice... Although the green background in the web page redesign breaks
the actual AutoHotkey help style... Maybe a logo-only redesign page could
be done...?

Ok, I fiddled around some more with the design...
Here is the floating/tileable transparent background image
The site shouldn't necessarily be "greenish" of course, but the icon has always been green, and the blue version might fit the site better, but it looks like autoit then (autoit uses blueish)...
Gray-scale looks pale...
Disclaimer: I'm no graphic designer, so not really perfect with colorschemes... (might very well be that colorblinds get a seizure viewing all that green )
One more variation... but now I stop, I really do, everybody can see I'm not good with graphics now...

C'mon, nobody any comments? If it sucks, let me know too
The idea is to keep as much "other" work away from the actual programmers as possible...
Still think the site desperately needs donation links.

I think the logo colors should be light blue, as it is in:
and the manuals color scheme should stay as it is.

Wow! Sorry, but the light-blue/purple "color-scheme" is quite ugly (I feel)...
The idea was to offer an alternative, a make-over, a redesign. Though I'm in no means good with colors or graphics, I think everybody can agree the site/logo/icons could use an update..., so why not the basic colors, and three shades of each (see the icons)... again, I'm not good with colors, but still
I used the green color of the default ahk icon as a starting point, and even though I agree the result is quite insulting to the eye, I hope you can catch the idea
If you download the files (and have Paint.NET, the only reason so far for me to make .NET worth the install), you can change the colors of the icons (and logo) at will...
Do see my previous posts in this thread for the icons.

I've seen them. its just I think that green is just...ew. To saturated (bright of a green). I like the other colors.
if you go green, make it a duller green, like:
sage or dull green.
I'm just not a fan of high-saturated colors. I like dull/dark. Or bright/dull (like how this forum is).

 TBH, my first thought - it's ... 'a fart, set on fire' (the 'flamming Moe' at the bottom of the image):lol:I really do, everybody can see I'm not good with graphics now...
Isn't it correct that you could set up a page to swap its generic color, so the user could select 'on the fly' a greenish/redish/blueish/whatevercolorish design ?

Yes. The colors I used are in the Paint.NET files, so anybody can change those. And I simply changed the css colors in the AHK homepage mockup with the same colors (problem is, that doesn't really show right).
Again: I'm not really good with visuals (I'm not a visual guy), but everybody is welcome to make their own version.

Although I'm not that great at graphic design, here's my 2 cents: I like the icons, the logo (without the blue angel  ) and changes for the installer but I'm not too fond of green for the website.

I appreciate all the creative artwork that's been posted here. I don't know when or if the current icons and logo will be changed; but if it's ever considered, this topic will be a valuable resource.
Thanks!
Thanks!
